Set up your Google Business Profile the right way
If you do one thing for local search this week, do this. A complete Google Business Profile is what puts you on the map — literally.
Claim and verify
Search your business name on Google. If a profile already exists, claim it. If not, create one. Verify by postcard, phone, or video — whatever Google offers you.
Fill every field
- Exact business name, address, phone (must match your website exactly).
- Categories: pick the most specific primary category, then add secondaries.
- Hours, services, and a real description with your city and what you do.
Photos and reviews
- Add real photos: storefront, team, work you've done. Refresh monthly.
- Ask every happy customer for a review. Reply to all of them, good and bad.
That's it. Most competitors leave half of this blank. Completing it is your edge.
